    Carbo 940: white powder. Providing the stability of the oil-in-water emulsion system. It is of very short rheology, high viscosity, medium clarity, low ion resistance and high shear resistance. Suitable for creams and lotions.

  • Low molecular weight polyacrylic acid is a colorless and transparent solid. Its 20%～30% aqueous solution is light yellow or colorless viscous liquid. Its molecular weight is 500-5000, and the pH value is 2-4. Its dissociation constant is approximately 5×10-5, which is similar to the dissociation constant of acetic acid (1.8×10-5), and is much larger than the first dissociation constant of carbonic acid. Therefore, polyacrylic acid is a weak acid stronger than carbonic acid. It is generally stable to strong acids, strong alkali, and oxidants, but under high temperature or long light exposure, low molecular weight polyacrylic acid will still repolymerize, so that its molecular weight will continue to increase, and its viscosity will also increase, and finally become a jelly state solid precipitatd out of the aqueous solution. It is a chelating agent and also a lattice distortion agent, which can form stable complexes with metal ions in water such as calcium and magnesium. It also has good dispersing properties and capable in dispersing amorphous particles such as crystalline compounds, soil, dust, corrosive substances and biological debris in water.
